Built between the 13th and 14th centuries and occupying a defensive location on a rocky spur, the Château comprises a Medieval castle and a large main building added on during the Renaissance. A tour of Gramont is an opportunity to explore architectural history from the Middle Ages (the castle with its square tower and a main building with loopholes) to Modern Times (Renaissance château, main entranceway and sculpted windows, a large straight staircase and monumental fireplaces).
A diverse collection of 16th and 17th century furniture and tapestries reflects what life as a lord was like back in that time. A garden composed of flower beds is beautifully maintained.
